Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda has attracted the attention of Premier League sides for many years, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be on the move to England in this window. However, Premier League trio Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been put on alert after Serie A side Lazio appeared to be ruled out of the running by Honda’s agent.
Keisuke Honda’s agent Maikel Stevens told Corriere dello Sport: “we’re still unsure whether the transfer will take place now or in the summer” (Goal.com). This may give Man United an opportunity to steal in ahead of the Rome-based club and bring the Japanese midfielder to Old Trafford in this transfer window.
Liverpool and Arsenal will also be alerted by the news, with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger previously calling Honda a ‘genius’ on the ball. (SkySports)
The 25-year-old joined CSKA Moscow in 2010 for around £5 million, but a fee in access of that would be required to bring the 2011 AFC Asian Cup’s Most Valuable Player to the Premier League.
