According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sports Witness, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a swoop for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.
The report claims that the 24-year-old has been identified as a potential long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
However, it would be fair to say that the majority of Spurs supporters would rather that Paulo Gazzaniga is given the chance to become the number one.
Gazzaniga made 11 first-team appearances for Tottenham during the 2018-19 campaign, with three of those coming in the Premier League.
There is no question that the Argentine is a talent, but the fact that he is 27 and has played less than 100 games in professional football is a slight concern.

Nevertheless, in response to suggestions that Mauricio Pochettino’s side could sign Strakosha, a number of Spurs fans insisted that their current number two should be given the opportunity to become Lloris’ eventual successor instead.
