da spicy bet: Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their unhappiness at the prospect of seeing centre midfielder James Milner be deployed at right-back once again for the trip to Wolves on Friday night, as reported by the Evening Standard.
With Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold struggling for fitness at the moment, the versatile 32-year-old was thrust into an unusual right-back position for the trip to Bournemouth, a game that the Reds won 4-0.
However, with Milner also picking up an injury before the last outing against Manchester United, forgotten man Nathaniel Clyne was brought in from the cold to start against the Red Devils and performed well as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-1.
Having played so well, it would be a hugely controversial move for Klopp to drop Clyne and reinstate Milner at right-back, even more so if Liverpool end up dropping points against the newly-promoted side.
Naturally, the Anfield faithful aren’t too convinced by the prospect of seeing Milner back in defence…
