Manchester United have won the race to sign highly-rated RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, reportedly reaching an 'agreement in principle' for a deal worth €85 million (£73.7m/$100m). The Slovenia international had been pursued by Newcastle United, but ultimately chose Old Trafford as his preferred destination, with medical tests now expected to follow soon.

The Athletic has reported that Manchester United and Leipzig have agreed on a €76.5m fixed fee plus €8.5m in add-ons for the transfer of Sesko. Newcastle had also submitted an accepted bid but couldn’t convince the player of a summer move to St. James' Park. The 21-year-old is now set to travel for a medical ahead of signing a contact with the Premier League side.
