According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United could move for Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha in this summer’s transfer window.
What’s the word, then?
Zaha has revealed that he is ready to leave Palace at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
The 26-year-old wants ‘to play for a top club’ and according to the Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as United boss has increased the chances of the Red Devils making an attempt to re-sign the attacker.
Zaha, of course, has previous at Old Trafford. He joined the 20-time English champions from Palace in 2013, but made just four appearances for club.
There is no question that the attacker has improved as a player since then and there will certainly be interest from some big clubs in this summer’s transfer window.
United, however, should avoid a move for the Ivory Coast international, who would not be an upgrade on the players that Solskjaer already has at his disposal.
Is Zaha ready for an Old Trafford return?
Zaha has registered eight goals and eight assists in 30 Premier League appearances for Palace during the 2018-19 campaign.
The 5 ft 11 ace, at his best, is brilliant, but it would be a huge risk for United to re-sign him in what must be a strong transfer window for the club.

Right wing is an area that the Red Devils desperately need to strengthen, but whilst adding Zaha sounds good on paper, it is difficult to say that he is an upgrade on the wide players that Solskjaer currently has at his disposal – the likes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.
The dream signing would be Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho – that seems unlikely this summer, but United should not settle.
There is no denying that Zaha has developed into a terrific Premier League player – and is probably the best in the league outside of the top six clubs – but it makes little sense for United to bring him back this summer.
