Yes, the summer transfer window traditionally showcases ‘bigger’ moves and a longer period for clubs to shop till they drop means fringe players can be let go and key personnel can be acquired to fulfil the new season’s targets whatever they may represent.
If we retrace back to last summer, the transfer window included the big moves of Ashley Young to Manchester United, Gervinho to Arsenal and Sergio Aguero to Manchester City. It is likely that names of similar calibre may be on the move again this time round, with Lukas Podolski being mentioned frequently as the first who may arrive on these shores with the likely destination of Arsenal.
