da jogodeouro: Ashley Young is mulling over four transfer offers that include one from China and three from Premier League sides, Sky Sports has said.
What’s the word?
da apostebet: Having not started a Premier League game for over two months, the future of 31-year-old Ashley Young seems to be away from Manchester United and the veteran has four offers to consider over the next few weeks- although a conclusion may not be reached until February.
That is because Chinese outfit Shandong Luneng, who boast the likes of former Southampton man Graziano Pelle and former Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse, are in no rush to complete a deal as their transfer window has another month remaining.
For Young though, he must decide whether to stay within English football, as he has three offers from unnamed Premier League sides, or move to the Far East. Having won a wealth of honours since joining United in 2011, he may choose the latter.
What about a loan?
Manchester United are not open to loaning Young out this month, Sky Sports adds, with their preference being a permanent sale. Given the wealth of competition Young has at Old Trafford, an exit is extremely likely.
With just five of his ten appearances this season coming as a starter, Young is clearly surplus to requirements in the eyes of Jose Mourinho and could become the latest first-team member to be sold this month- following Morgan Schneiderlin’s transfer to Everton and Memphis Depay’s sale to French outfit Lyon.
Mourinho is clearly trimming the squad of deadwood, something that is likely to continue into the summer, and United’s preference to avoid a loan deal for those deemed to be expendable doesn’t bode well for Young if he wants to remain with the Red Devils.
